Race Day Essentials

Everything you need to know before you hit the trail.

Where is Laramie Peak??

Laramie Peak sits as the tallest point in the Laramie Range of east-central Wyoming. Rising to an elevation of 10,200 feet, Laramie Peak was the first glimpse of the Rocky Mountains as settlers traveled westward on the Oregon Trail.

The event is based out of Friend Park Campground, in the Medicine Bow National Forest. Friend Park is roughly an hour and 20 minutes from the nearest civilization and often requires racers to drive upwards of 50 miles of dirt roads to reach the campground.

within the campground, there are some reservation-only campsites, as well as a few walk-in tent sites. dispersed camping areas can be had about a half mile from he campground.

Aid Stations

The main aid station is located at the start/finish area within the campground. This aid station is referred to as "Basecamp". Basecamp will be well stocked with all of the yummies and creature comforts to keep you going.

along the course will be supplemental water filtered from crispy and clear natural springs.  It is highly suggested to carry a filter of your own as well in the event that water stores run low and you don't want to wait for more to be bulk filtered.

Weather & Gear

Wyoming weather is notoriously unpredictable, especially at high-altitudes. We recommend runners pack for all conditions. Bring a high-quality rain jacket, thermal layers, a water filter, headlamp with extra batteries, and a change of clothes/footwear. This course is very remote, so please ensure your gear is in tip-top shape before you come up!
